It has come to attention of TCP that the
well known PDF reader is now demanding "updates" which
TCP never recomends from anything. We found a program on a Linux
System that runs on Windows and we like it better. It works more
consistantly and you can download it to a file in your "documents"
and use it from there or install if you wish. We think it is
safer to use without installing.
To use it after download to your documents,
right click on a pdf file you have in your documents, select
"open with" and a menu of programs will appear. If
you haven't installed it, Foxit probably won't show on the menu
yet so click "browse". You may have to "click
up" and search for your documents file but it's not hard
to do. Once you find it click "open" and there you
are. It will ask you if you wish to make it your default reader.
Your choice. If you don't you can always right click on another
PDF and then it will appear on the first menu so you won't have
to dig for it again.
There is a little window in the upper right
hand corner that offers tips and wants you to get their Pro version.
I ignore it as it works well as a reader but for those that want
a PDF writer it may be excellent but TCP has no experience with
it yet. If you get their pro version please let us know how you
like it. |
